This shop has no clue what they’re talking about when it comes to aftermarket parts. I gave my cousin my old car that I had done some modifications to, which include an aftermarket cold air intake. The car gave her a code saying that it was running rich due to the MAF sensor that I had to strap down to the intake using electrical tape. This is because the intake was made for an earlier year of the car which had a different MAF sensor but same engine. The tape had come loose and after taking it into this shop they told her that was the issue, which it was, but then tried to charge her $800 to replace the entire thing back to the stock intake which makes less power and decreases cold air flow into the engine. I decided that I would come down and fix it myself. When I got there I saw that they had glued and taped the MAF sensor to the intake the wrong way without it plugged in, which was completely unnecessary. I had to get it unstuck and put it back in the correct way and the car started right up with no issues. The MAF sensor just needed to be strapped back down after being on there for about a year and half. Another easy fix is to get the correct sensor that fits the intake which is only $100.

Thank you for sharing your experience. At Chuck Jones Automotive, we always strive to provide honest and reliable service backed by industry standards and a warranty. When vehicles come in with aftermarket modifications that may impact performance or reliability, our goal is to ensure a lasting and correct repair. In this case, our recommendation was to return the air intake system to stock specifications, as aftermarket setups—especially ones that require unconventional mounting—can sometimes lead to recurring issues. While we understand that modifications can enhance performance, our approach prioritizes consistency, manufacturer guidelines, and long-term dependability for our customers. We’re glad that you were able to find a solution that worked for you, and we appreciate the opportunity to inspect the vehicle. If you ever need assistance in the future, we’re happy to help!

EDIT: these people did not contact me 29 times lmfao and I will willingly provide all phones records, to prove that they not only cannot fix vehicles but they are bold face liars. They literally lie through their teeth. ABSOLUTELY Terrible business, cost me thousands and couldn't fix my vehicle and then had it impounded without telling me. 29 calls? nah. One text warning would've saved me thousands of dollars but go ahead and keep lying. It's Woodland half of the people live in fantasy land anyways. Joke business. I repeat do not come here.

We appreciate your feedback and take all customer concerns seriously. However, we would like to clarify the events surrounding your experience. We completed the agreed-upon repairs, which included replacing a radiator hose and adding antifreeze. You declined any additional recommended work. After the repairs were finished, you took possession of your keys but left the vehicle on our property for over four months. During this time, we made multiple attempts—29+ documented phone calls—to reach you regarding the removal of your vehicle. As stated in our shop policy, which is clearly posted in our service area, vehicles left for more than 15 days are subject to impound or a mechanic’s lien. Unfortunately, after no response, the vehicle was ultimately impounded. We understand that unexpected challenges can arise, and we sympathize with personal hardships. However, we also must follow our policies to ensure the fair and efficient operation of our business. We take pride in our honesty and integrity, as reflected in our 4.7-star rating across 430 reviews. Our goal remains to provide quality service and clear communication to all our valued customers.

I drove my rig there off the freeway, and after they worked on it never ran again after giving them 500 dollars to kill it. I was driving 100 miles round-trip every day because my ongoing divorce and my vehicle got stuck in their parking lot for sometime as i had NO VEHICLE and I rely on everyone else for everything. I kept in contact with the owner as I tried to get a way to get some help since my AAA was turned off by my wife the day the car died. I had zero money and kept in contact with the business owner. Without zero wording, he had my car that they destroyed impounded which now I owe $1900 for. Then when my angry wife calls them they lie about them contacting me. EDIT: these people did not contact me 29 times lmfao and I will willingly provide all phones records, to prove that they not only cannot fix vehicles but they are bold face liars. One text warning would've saved me thousands of dollars but go ahead and keep lying. Joke business. I repeat do not come here if you want consequences to bad service or any sense of reality or professionalism
