The first time I took my vehicle in, I received great service. So I was very surprised from my last experience being completely horrible. My oil was overfilled on an oil change and it was running horribly. We didn't think of the idea of it being oil on the spark plugs until the tow truck was already to my house so I decided to take it in any ways. I asked Chuck's to check the spark plugs and went to work. They called back saying it was the spark plugs covered in oil and that it would cost $280 to fix. I thought that was a ridiculous price since it was such an easy fix, so I decided to take it home and do it myself. When I arrived to pick up my car, which I was told was ready to go over the phone, the guy had me pay for "diagnosis" and told me I couldn't take my car because the engine cover, spark plugs and engine coil were out and he couldn't put it back together. I went back the next day and my car was completely dead (don't know how they drained my battery) so I had to have them jump it. Took it home to fix it which took me a total of 15 min. cleaning off the spark plugs and draining the excess oil. As we were changing the spark plugs we found tons of debris, including yellow pieces of shredded paper down in the engine where the spark plugs go. It must have gotten in their while they left everything off and open the previous day and over night. Needless to say, I am very surprised I received such horrible service when I have heard so many great reviews. But I will be looking elsewhere for a mechanic.
Kyrsten, It is always great to hear feedback from customers thus as an owner I can address and rectify situations needing resolved. I read through my technician notes, read the invoice you signed stating the facts related to why your vehicle was here and spoke to my staff regarding your vehicle. You had your vehicle towed in due to the fact that you had overfilled the oil in your engine yourself. You additionally stated that the oil filter broke and the oil cap had come off. You stated that you had drained some of the overfilled oil out and that the vehicle was now running poorly. The vehicle was losing power and bogging down when pushing on the gas pedal trying to accelerate; and that it now had rough idle. Our Technician was unable to drive your vehicle due to the fact it had no gas in it when you had it towed in. The Technician found that your vehicle was still overfilled with oil and that the spark plugs were fouled with oil. We recommended that you get the oil to the correct specification, replace all spark plugs, add fuel and test drive. While we did remove one spark plug and coil set, and your engine cover to determine your vehicle was still overfilled with oil, we did not get debris in the engine. We did not remove any other component on your vehicle. The first time you came to our business we could not duplicate your concern and did not charge you for diagnosing your vehicle. However, in the situation listed above it was very justifiable charging you $50.48 to diagnosis your vehicle and estimate repairs. The estimated repair for spark plugs and an oil change was $201.30. We stand by our work with pride and integrity. We back our work with a 3 year/36,000 mile local warranty and a nationwide warranty of 2 years/24,000 mile. We appreciate our customer’s feedback and will strive to make any changes that will make our business a better business for our customers. Sincerely, Vicki Jones Owner
